Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will start negotiations, in order to conclude an agreement with the European Union on the road transport of goods. The members of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration gave a positive notification to a draft to this effect.

The agreement will regulate aspects regarding the type of transport operations, period of validity of the agreement and the term of its entrance into force. The document will be negotiated following the call on the liberalization of the transit for the road transport of goods for the operators from Moldova, launched by the Infrastructure and regional Development Ministry to the EU member states and the European Commissioner for Transport.

Presently, the road transports of goods are made based on authorizations and the quotas are established at negotiations. According to the authorities, the quotas are insufficient for the transport operators from Moldova.
