Moldovan MP of Short Party stripped off parliamentary immunity

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today approved a demand by the acting Prosecutor General, Dumitru Robu, on stripping an MP of the Shor Party, Marina Tauber, off parliamentary immunity.
According to the acting Prosecutor General, Dumitru Robu, the file in which lawmakers Ilan Shor and Marina Tauber are regarded will be sent to court. Robu also said that prosecutors had accumulated evidence proving that the two MPs were involved in taking over the control of the work of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank, BEM), Unibank and Banca Sociala (Social Bank).
The acting prosecutor general informed that decision-makers would soon made public details which led to the dropping of criminal charges against Marina Tauber, after she had been detained three years ago.
Marina Tauber gave a speech in parliament, in which she said that more officials had got involved in the one-billion-dollar theft.
Also today, lawmaker Ilan Shor was stripped off parliamentary immunity, following a demand by the acting Prosecutor General.
