World Health Organization to further provide Moldova with support to manage refugees' crisis

Chisinau, 30 May /MOLDPRES/ - The World Health Organization (WHO) will further provide Moldova with support, in order to cope with the refugees’ crisis. WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus today made statements to this effect at a meeting with Health Minister Ala Nemerenco in Geneva.
At the meeting, the Moldovan health minister presented the efforts made nationally, in order to accommodate the refugees from Ukraine. Ala Nemerenco and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also discussed the volume of medical services provided to the refugees.
The WHO director general appreciated the Moldovan people’s generosity, as well as the authorities’ comprehensive answer to the refugees’ crisis. At the same time, the official confirmed the World Health Organization’s willingness to further provide Moldova with support, in order to be able to cope with the crisis of refugees.
Health Minister Ala Nemerenco today participates in the 151st session of the WHO Executive Committee as member.
