Price of petrol, diesel to increase

Chisinau, June 7 / MOLDPRES /- For 8 June the following maximum retail prices of the main oil products of the standard type were established: COR 95 petrol - 32.59 lei / liter (+0.39); diesel - 29.30 lei / liter (+0.64),the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has reported.

The agency explained that there was an unprecedented increase in Platts quotations for petrol and diesel, which in the last session reached a record level of about $ 1406 / ton for petrol and $ 1343 / ton for diesel. "During the last 14 days, used by ANRE to calculate the maximum prices, the quotations increased by 16% for gasoline and 23% for diesel, the increase representing about $ 196 / ton for petrol and $ 251 / ton for diesel" , the institution said.

"Internationally, the situation generated by the military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine creates unprecedented pressure on oil prices, which leads to record fuel prices in most countries of the world. A comparative analysis of prices in other European countries shows that in most cases, due to the mechanism of capping them and regulating the specific trade margin, the Republic of Moldova maintains a relatively lower level of prices ", ANRE statement reads.
