Moldovan head of state meets co-rapporteurs of PACE monitoring committee

Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with the co-rapporteurs of the monitoring committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), on a fact-collecting visit to Chisinau.
According to the presidential press service, the discussion was focused on the current situation in Moldova, especially the developments concerning the justice reform, combating corruption, work of the mass media and the democratic institutions, as well as the impact of the Russian aggression in Ukraine on Moldova.
The head of state referred to the actions taken by the authorities to respond to the economic, humanitarian and security challenges triggered by the war, in order to ensure the stability in Moldova and to continue the changes underway in the key sectors.
President Maia Sandu said that the justice reform and fighting corruption remained a priority, being the foundation for strong and independent institutions, which are to improve the people’s living and get the country closer to the EU standards.
