Moldovan foreign affairs minister has meeting with governor of Council of Europe Development Bank in Paris

Chisinau, 9 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu, in the beginning of the agenda of his visit to Paris, has had a meeting with Governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CRB) Carlo Monticelli, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
Deputy PM Nicu Popescu informed his interlocutor about the Moldovan authorities’ appreciation for CEB’s projects implemented in Moldova, which are related to the social dwellings, health, infrastructure, including the construction of a new penitentiary according to the European standards, as well as the support provided to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and manage the refugees’ crisis.
„The Bank’s openness to back projects on development in Moldova contributes to the authorities’ effort of modernization and transformation of the priority sector, promotion of social cohesion and achieving the sustainable development goals,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.
For his part, Carlo Monticelli accepted the invitation to visit Moldova, in order to continue discussions on opportunities of cooperation with the Council of Europe Development Bank.
