More Moldovan agricultural products to reach European markets without customs duties

Chisinau, 9 June /MOLDPRES/ - Apples, plums, grapes and other Moldovan agricultural products will soon reach European markets without customs duties. The European Commission today proposed a regulation due to allow the temporary improvement of the access to market for Moldova’s agricultural products.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the measures suggested regard seven products for which the exports from Moldova to EU are still not fully liberalized: plums, tables grapes, apples, tomatoes, garlic, sweet cherries and grapes juice. The regulation doubles, for a one-year period, the quantity of these products which can be imported without customs duties from Moldova to EU.
As a result of the implementation of these measures, almost all Moldovan products will enter EU already without customs duties, within the EU-Moldova Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area.
Moldova’s government will continue making efforts, in order to back the country’s farmers and entrepreneurs to easier overcome the crises and losses on market, by which they were hit in the wake of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The commission’s proposal is to be considered and approved by the European Parliament and the Council of European Union.
