DesCoperă Classical Music Festival reaches fifth edition in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - The fifth issue of the DescOperă Classical Music Festival will take place at the landscape amphitheatre of the Orheiul Vechi (Old Orhei) Cultural and Natural Reserve on 17-19 June.
According to the organizers, the Orchestras of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic will impress the audience with the nicest songs by great classical music composers.
The festival will have three show evenings. Thus, on 17 June at 19:00, the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre will present a show given by sopranos Valentina Nafornita, Natalia Tanasiiciuc and baritone Andrei Jelihovschi. Conductor: Director of the Romanian Opera Daniel Jinga.
On 18 June at 19:00, the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic will re-bring to stage the Carmen opera by G. Bizet, in modern signing and CONCERTINO specific style.
On 19 June at 19:00, the closing concert of the festival will start with special guests from Georgia – the vocal ensemble Batumi, famous representatives of the polyphonic singing, specific for Georgia. In the second part of the concert with the suggestive title, The Season of Passion, violin player Rusanda Panfili will sing the work, Seasons, by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla. The transport means will set out from the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre during 14:00-16:00 and will return to Chisinau at 22:00-00:00. The price of one ticket is 400 lei (about 20 euros). The season ticket for 3 days is 900 lei. The travel tickets in one direction cost 75 lei. Children till 12 years of age will travel for free.
The event is organized under the aegis of Moldova’s Culture Ministry, in partnership with the National Association of Inbound Tourism from Moldova (ANTRIM) and with the support of the Activity of Support of Competitiveness in the Light and Tourism Industry (MCTA), financed by the U.S. Agency for International Development. It is regarded the only open air classical music festival in the South Eastern Europe.
The first edition of the open air of the DescOperă Classical Music Festival took place in June 2016 and was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the proclamation of Moldova’s Independence.
