Moldova to be able to attract European funds provided by group of French Development Agency

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s government is to sign an agreement with the government of France on activities of the French Development Agency (AFD), Proparco and Expertise France in Moldova. The decision was taken at a today’s cabinet meeting.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the funds provided by the AFD group will be used for financing the needs of Moldova’s national development.
Last year, AFD received mandate to provide assistance to Moldova, through financing instruments and technical expertise. Thus, the Agency will support projects on development in such sectors as re-afforestation and irrigation, modernization of the water supply systems and sewerage systems, electric interconnections and buildings’ energy efficiency.
Also, AFD will back programmes of reform from investment loans, financing of feasibility studies, investments in investment funds and financing the private sector.
The agreement will be signed by Deputy PM, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicolae Popescu and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna.
AFD is an organization of the government of France which finances projects in developing countries. AFD opened a representation office in Chisinau in February 2022
