Olympic Day marked in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Olympic Day is celebrated on 23 June, when the creation of the modern Olympic Movement is marked.
„The Olympic Day is an as fit as possible occasion to launch the urge to movement and respect for sport and a sound lifestyle. The sport brings a more balanced life to all generations, thus ensuring the way towards a better society. This is the Olympic ideal,’’ reads a message by the head of Moldova’s National Olympic and Sports Committee, double Olympic champion Nicolae Juravschi, conveyed on this occasion today.
„We are quickly nearing important sports competitions: the Banska-Bystrica 2022 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival, the Krakow -Malopolska 2023 European Games, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games,’’ Juravschi noted.
The official wished success to the sportspeople who will represent Moldova at these Olympic competitions, as well as at other European and world events, where the qualifications for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games will be held. ‘’I call on all sport amateurs to back the Olympic Team of Moldova,’’ Nicolae Juravschi added.
