Customs authorities of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine establish measures of easing cross-border traffic

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - The leadership of the customs authorities from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine today had a trilateral meeting, during which they established a string of measures due to be implemented, in order to ease the cross-border traffic.
According to the Customs Service, the meeting was held to strengthen the cooperation between the customs and border authorities from the three neighbor countries, in order to facilitate the international trade and minimize the time for carrying out the customs procedures.
At the meeting, the sides presented and discussed the current situation at the border crossing points and reviewed the actions undertaken, in order to speed up the flow of goods and transport means. It is about the increase in the number of customs and border employees, optimizing the pressure on the present infrastructure of the border checkpoints through redirecting a part of the vehicles to the less agglomerated border crossing points, establishing an efficient trilateral interaction with other competent national authorities.
The meeting was held at the Siret-Porubne Romanian-Ukrainian border crossing point, on the side of Romania, with the support of the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform in Ukraine.
