Number of COVID-19 cases increases by about 50 per cent in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - The number of COVID-19 cases increased by about 50 per cent in the Moldovan capital in the last week. The head of the Chisinau city hall's medical and social assistance general department, Boris Galca, today made statements to this effect at an operative meeting of the municipal services.
According to Galca, the health authorities registered 121 new cases, against 76 cases recorded two weks ago.
''A tendency of increase in the number of cases is recorded in the region. Therefore, we warn the residents to avoid public events, observe the protection measures and be vaccinated against the virus. We also recommend to carry out the third dose of the vaccine. The vaccines are in stocks; thus, we urge citizens to come to the vaccination points, in order to benefit from the vaccine,'' Boris Galca noted.
At the same time, the municipal authorities stressed that decision-makers might soon approve the procedure of vaccination with the dose 4 against COVID-19, a procedure practiced in more neighbour countries.
