Moldovan head of state meets team of UN Women Moldova

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 24 June met Country Representative of the UN Women in Moldova Dominika Stojanoska, the presidential press service has reported.
The discussion was focused on the crisis of refugees from Ukraine, as well as the progress made by Moldova in ensuring the gender equality for women and men and combating the domestic violence.
The head of state thanked the representative of UN Women for the involvement of the organization in helping the refugees from Ukraine. Also, Maia Sandu said that, for Moldova, priority remained the combating of the violence against women and children, discouraging the discourse of hatred and women's economic empowering. To find solutions able to allow Moldovan women to live without physical, economic and other kinds of costraints, we further rely on the close partnership with the UN sgency.
