Romania allocates one million euros for implementing 36 projects in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - Romania has allocated one million euros for the implementation of 36 projects ion Moldova. The state secretary at the Department for Relation with Moldova (DRRM) of the Romanian government, Adrian Dupu, made statements to this effect at a news conference.
According to Dupu, the initiatives are to be implemented by institutions and associations from Moldova and Romania during this year. ''The projects were approved in the last spring. We will discuss with their beneficiaries on the implementation, goals and expectations from the initiatived backed. The projects regard five sectors: mass media, culture, education, spirituality and civil society,'' Adrian Dupu said.
The DRRM state secretary noted that the the main criterion of eligibility was the number of people who would eventually benefit from these projects. ''We want an as large number as possible of citizens to be able to appreciate the impact of these initiatives. Romania supports with much confidence the efforts made by Moldova, in order to change things for the better, especially given that the country received the status of candidate for accession to the European Union,'' drian Dupu said.
This year, the budget for the implementation of projects financed by Romanjia increased three-fold. As many as 140 applications on financing of initiatives were submitted in all. The number of projects is approved depending on the budget available.
