Over 420 cases of infectious diseases registered in Chisinau

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES - Over 420 cases of infectious diseases and intoxications were registered in the Moldovan capital in the last week. The head of the Chisinau city hall's medical and social assistance general department, Boris Galca, today made statements to this effect at an operative meeting of the municipal services.

According to Galca, the infectious diseases are characteristic for the summer period. ''The medical institutions recorded 21 cases of enterovirus infections, 115 cases of gastroenteritis, 164 cases of diarrhoea, of whom 98 pacients were hospitalized and 11 cases of tuberculosis. Also, more people suffered from food intoxications and intoxications with medicines,'' Boris Galca noted.

At the same time, about 2,900 addressings were registered in hospitals from Moldovan capital and about 2,000 patients were hospitalized. Also, last week, 145 births were assisted in Chisinau.
