Moldova's Border Police urges citizens to opt for crossing points Costesti, Cahul or Lipcani on summer period

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Border Police urges citizens to opt for the border crossing points Costesti, Cahul or Lipcani, in order to avoid the waiting queues at the Leuseni and Sculeni border checkpoints, which are the most demanded on the summer period.   

According to the institution, construction and modernization works are carried out at the Leuseni and Sculeni border crossing points, which can trigger a growth in the waiting time while crossing the border.

At the same time, the Sculeni border crossing point is under modernization in the direction of exit from Moldova. Thus, the cross border movement is carried out only in the direction of entrance to Moldova. Hence, an intense traffic is often registered at the Sculeni point. As usual, agglomerations are created on Wednesdays and Fridays in the direction of exit from Moldova and on Fridays after 17:00 and Sunday after 13:00, in the direction of entrance to the country.   

Also, to ease the border traffic, the Border Police and the Customs Service supplied the number of employees and provided them with special control technology. Thus, decision-makers made the redirecting of the traffic on lanes available on the opposite direction of movement and exchanged data and information on the flow of passengers and transport means.  .
