Health sector specialists say leisure zones pose high risk of infection in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/ - The leisure zones pose a high risk of infection for residents. Health sector specialists carried out laboratory investigations, which show that the water was ‘’moderately polluted’’ and posed danger for people’s health.
According to the National Public Health Agency (ANSP), the leisure zones pose a high risk of infection during bathing. At the same time, there is risk of catching diseases from soil, the sand infected on beaches or from the polluted water. It is about acute diarrhea diseases or skin diseases. To prevent the risks for health, specialists warn residents that the bathing in lakes with beaches in leisure zones was not recommended.
At the same time, ANSP recommends that citizens are prudent when choosing the zone for leisure during the summer period: they should attend only lakes specially arranged and authorized, priority should be given to the zones placed nearby natural elements: woods, friendly relief, the speed of the water flow should be without strong currents, the water level should not oscillate sharply. At the same time, people should avoid the penetration of water from lakes in organism, in order to avoid a possible infection.
The leisure zones are annually subjected to sanitary authorization and the samples collected are investigated according to more parameters.
