Campaign on prevention of illicit transport of passenger, goods finished in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR) on 5 July informed about the finishing of a campaign on the prevention and combating of the national and international illicit transport of passengers and goods. During two months, on the period 3 May – 30 June, the National Motor Transport Agency (ANTA) along with the competent bodies carried out more actions for combating the illicit traffic of goods and passengers.
Actions of informing citizens, drivers and transport operators were carried out in the first phase of the campaign. Over 2,000 participants in the traffic were informed about all conditions of observance of the law, in order to avoid risks, sanctions and consequences borne following the practicing of illegal transport activities.
The seconds phase had the goal to carry out actions of monitoring and control of transport operations at border crossing points, such as Cahul-Oancea, Giurgiulesti-Galati, Leuseni-Albita, Sculeni-Sculeni and Costesti-Stanca. Also, more operations of supervision and control were carried out in the municipalities of Chisinau, Ungheni, Balti, Comrat, as well as in the country’s districts and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.
The campaign of prevention and combating of the illicit national and international transport of goods and passengers fits into Modern Transport Programme, launched on 16 February 2022 and is aimed at improving the road transport through the providing of safe, comfortable and accessible transport services.
