Balti mayor appreciates current Moldovan government's openness for city

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - You are the first government to turn the face towards the Balti city and to be concerned about the settlement’s problems. The Balti mayor, Nikolai Grigorisin, today made statements to this effect at a cabinet meeting held in the Balti municipality.
„One judges according to the state of the country and according to the second largest city of the state. In 30 years, no governance has needed Balti and the Balti residents. We are a multinational city, with diverse problems, which need the assistance of the central authorities,’’ Grigorisin said.
For her part, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said that such practices would be extended. We plan a meeting also in the Comrat city, as well as in other district centres. A priority of the current cabinet is to be as close to people as possible,’’ the PM stressed.
The today’s government meeting was organized in the Balti city. More important decisions are on the cabinet’s agenda, including for the residents of Moldova’s northern region.
The participants in the meeting are to approve the government’s notification on the status of the Balti municipality, which will have a direct impact on the development of the region on the whole, as well as a decision on giving the assets of the Barza Albă enterprise the status of object of the cultural and national heritage of Moldova. Also, the cabinet members will decide on the transmission of a string of buildings from Balti to the management of the public authorities, so that they are included in the local economic circulation.
