About 6,800 victims of political repressions receive assistance on behalf of state in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - About 6,800 victims of political repressions have received annual material assistance worth 1,000 lei (about 50 euros) on behalf of the National Social Assistance Agency. The support was provided, given the day of commemoration of the victims of Stalinism, annually marked on 6 July.

According to the Labour and Social Protection Ministry, among the beneficiaries, there are also people registered in settlements from the left bank of Dniester. Besides the annual benefit, the rehabilitated victims of deportations enjoy also a monthly allowance worth 750 lei.

At the same time, the people with disabilities and pensioners members of this category have right to other facilities as well: medical assistance, in line with the minimal amount of free of charge medical insurances, services of free of charge manufacturing and repair of dental prostheses, as well as giving tickets to medical rehabilitation centres. These people also have priority at reception in asylums and free of charge state insurance there, with the maintenance of at least 25 per cent of the pension allocated.

The day of commemoration of the victims of Stalinism was established in 2016, under Moldovan president’s decree.
