Caravan of films for human rights to take place in Moldova

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Council of Europe (CoE) in Chisinau, in partnership with Telefilm-Chisinau, organizes the Caravan of Documentary Films for Human Rights on 11-17 July.
Thus, according to the director of Telefilm-Chisinau, Mircea Surdu, six full-length and short-reel documentaries on social issues and human rights will be screened during one week in 5 various locations, covering the north, south and central Moldova.
The Caravan of Documentary Films for Human Rights takes place in the context of the Council of Europe Week in Moldova, when the country marks the 27th anniversary of its accession to CoE.
The Council of Europe is the biggest organization in Europe as regards the human rights. It comprises 46 member countries, including all European Union states. Since Moldova’s accession to CoE on 13 July 1995, the Organization has backed the country in fulfilling its statutory obligations specific for the consolidation of the democracy, human rights and rule of law state.
The project of the Council of Europe in Chisinau, Support for Media Pluralism and Freedom of Expression in Moldova, backed Telefilm-Chisinau and dozens of cinema men debutants in making full-length and short-reel documentaries which approach a string of relevant social subjects for Moldova.
