Moldovan parliament speaker discusses with leadership of Romanian Chamber of Deputies, Senate in Bucharest

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, during his visit to Bucharest, has had meetings with President of the Chamber of Deputies Ion-Marcel Ciolacu and acting President of the Senate Alina-Stefania Gorghiu, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.    

The officials discussed the strengthening of the parliamentary cooperation in more sectors and topical subjects: combating the Russian misinformation and propaganda, the reforms’ agenda, promotion of the European values, the economic and the gas crises, Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. ‘’I reiterated that Romania’s legislative experience can be quite helpful to us especially now, when Moldova got the status of candidate for EU, respectively, it must advance in the process of adjusting the national legislation to the European one,’’ Igor Grosu said.     

During the discussions, the parliament speaker expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by Romania to Moldova, as well as for projects on Moldova’s development. ‘’Romania is our basic partner in the European integration process; it has defended and promoted during years the cause of Moldova at the European Union’s institutions and among the member states. Moldova’s European transformation is a process which needs effort and we will succeed along with the citizens and our friends from Romania,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu noted.
