Moldovan Environment Ministry to monitor reserves of fire wood from national forest fund

Chisinau, 11 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Environment Ministry today asked for the support of the local public administration in the assessment and presentation of the volume of fire wood for each settlement of Moldova. ‘’Most residents from the rural environment must be equitably provided with fire wood on the cold period of the year, without causing damage to the national foreign fund,’’ the institution said.
The approach was initiated at a request by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, in order to make a comprehensive analysis and work out a programme of measures due to ensure the necessary amount of fire wood for the population from the rural areas. The information requested is to be presented in electronic formal at the email: [email protected] till 31 July.
The Environment Ministry relies on the support of mayoralties and representatives of the Territorial Offices of the State Chancellery, in order to evaluate and present the volume of fire wood. And this for the Environment Ministry, jointly with the Moldsilva Forestry Agency, in advance to undertake measures to provide the needed volume of fire wood during winter for all residents who use this alternative source of heating.
At the same time, the Environment Ministry recommends that the mayoralties inform local residents about the possibility of submitting an application for the volume of fire wood necessary. ‘’Subsequently, the fire wood will be sold by territorial forestry enterprises of the Moldsilva Agency, based on the lists of demanders of fire wood compiled by mayoralties (disadvantaged families, families which have no alternative heating sources but fire wood, public purpose buildings, other categories of people and institutions, etc.),’’ the Environment Ministry added.
