Nine political formations infringe electoral law in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - Nine political formations have infringed the electoral law, as they did not submit the report on the financial management for the first half of this year, in the term established by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
According to CEC, 46 (83.63 per cent) out of 55 political parties submitted on term the report on the financial management for the first half of the 2022 year. Thus, 39 political formations presented the report in the format established, i.e. both through the information system, Financial Control, and on paper and another seven ones used a single way.
At the same time, nine political parties (16.36 per cent) failed to fulfill their duties in the term established. It is about: the Socialist Party of Moldova, Party of Working People, Political Party NEW HISTORICAL OPTION, the United Moldova - Eдиная Молдова Party, Conservative Party, REVIVAL Party, Moldovan Political Party Our People, National Congress Party and the Political Party Alternative Force and Salvation of Moldova.
Also, figures show an improvement of the situation in terms of half-yearly financial reporting of the formations against the same period of the year before. Only 35 (66.03 per cent) out of the 53 political parties registered submitted the reports in the term established.
The political parties were to present the report on the financial management for the first semester of this year till 15 July. The failure to present the report in the term and format established, including the unveiling of incomplete data and the use of allocations from the state budget contrary to their purpose, represent infringement of the legal provisions. These facts are regarded as contravention and are liable to calling to account.
