Minimum salary to be unified in all institutions of Moldova

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - The minimum salary will be unified in all institutions of Moldova as of 1 September 2022. The parliament today voted a draft on the amendment of the law on salary payment and the Labour Code.

Under the document, the amendments suggested will ensure a minimally guaranteed quantum of the salary equivalent in any public institution, private company or self-managed entity.

Also, the law’s adoption will promote fair salary increases at the state enterprises, businesses where the state holds a majority stake and the monopolistic ones. Thus, the remuneration of employees’ labour in units, no matter the type of property and form of legal organization, is not to be lower than the minimum salary on the country set by the government.

The draft was adopted in the second reading with the votes of 68 lawmakers.
