Moldovan MP of Shor Party detained for 72 hours

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - The MP of the Shor Party, Marina Tauber, today was detained for 72 hours and is prosecuted in two criminal files.
The spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), Mariana Cherpec, has confirmed the information for MOLDPRES.
The parliament today adopted two decisions on allowing the lift of the aforementioned lawmaker’s parliamentary immunity for her detention, arrest, searching and sending to court.
Acting Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu sent the applications on stripping Marina Tauber off parliamentary immunity to Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. According to information presented, law-enforcers started the criminal prosecution against Tauber on the fact of forging of the report on the financial management of the Shor Political Party for the first half of the 2022 year, in an attempt to hide the financial means gained and the used ones, as well as on the deliberate acceptance of the Shor Political Party’s financing on behalf of an organized crime ring.
Also within these files, anticorruption officers and prosecutors today made searches in more locations.
