Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved the increase in the quotas of capacity for the photovoltaic installations set on grounds up to the value of 120 MW, in order to turn to account the sources of renewable energy, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The decision comes as a result of the increased interest in the solar installations, showed by investors, especially in the photovoltaic ones on grounds. Presently, 144 applications have been submitted for photovoltaic installations on buildings with a capacity of 111.2 MW, as well as 21 applications with a capacity of 10.56 MW. Respectively, there is much less interest in wind installations and non-intermittent technologies.
Thus, to achieve the value needed for the photovoltaic installations, the cabinet members ruled to diminish and reallocate the initial capacities, at the expense of the non-intermittent generation technologies, cogeneration based on biogas, syngas and biomass.
The new changes will contribute to the increase in the own production of energy, ensuring the sustainable development, improving the climate changes and attraction of investments in a relatively short period. At the same time, this will contribute to the creation of jobs, taking into account the interest showed by investors in types of technologies in the field of renewable energy sources, especially the photovoltaic ones.
