About 350,000 residents from Transnistrian region have Moldova's citizenship

Chisinau, 22 July /MOLDPRES/ - About 350,000 residents from the Transnistrian region hold Moldova’s citizenship.
According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, 355,013 citizens with residents on the left bank of Dniester and Bender city are in the records of the State Register of Population, of whom 345,889 hold the citizenship of Moldova, 321,532 have passports of Moldova’s citizen and 287,497 – identity cards.
At the same time, in the first half of 2022, following requests, 6,030 civil status documents of national model were issued. Also, decision-makers record an increase in the number of applications for national-model driver’s licences, with 26,395 driver’s licences of Moldova issued. Also, 2,312 economic agents from the Transnistrian region are registered in Moldova.
The Reintegration Policies Bureau said the figures highlighted the fact that the residents and entrepreneurs from the region, who carry out foreign commercial and economic transactions, are documented mostly with acts issued by Moldova’s competent authorities and comply with the rigours of the national legislation in force.
