Essential Medicines List updated after ten years

Chisinau, 9 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- The list of Essential Medicines has been updated after ten years, and citizens can benefit from several types of medicine free of charge. In the same way, outpatients have access to insulin analogs, medical devices for glucose monitoring, collection bags for intestinal and urinary stomas, compensated. The announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Health, Ala Namerenco, in the report presented one year after taking over the mandate.
Last year, patients with oncological diseases benefited from high-performance investigations, such as tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, in a maximum of five days, without having to wait more than a month.
Also, the Oncological Institute was equipped with a linear accelerator for radiotherapy treatment. Two other digital mammograms with tomosynthesis are to be commissioned in the next period. The Obstetrics Department No. 1 of the Mother and Child Institute was completely renovated, for the first time after 40 years, and the Perinatal Center within the Bălți Clinical Hospital was renovated.
In the same way, a series of activities were carried out in order to initiate the construction of two regional hospitals, in Balti and Cahul, and the reconstruction of the Emergency Unit of the Balti Clinical Hospital began.
The public health surveillance service has been modernized, with the National Public Health Agency's National Vaccine Warehouse renovated. Likewise, the territorial public health centers received 15 new cars and the ANSP was equipped with a state-of-the-art sequencer for the identification of SARS-CoV-2 mutation variants and more.
At the same time, the pre-hospital emergency medical assistance service was renewed with 30 new autosanitaries, equipped with the necessary equipment to provide emergency medical assistance to the population.
Among the achievements highlighted by the head of health is the salary increase for medical and administrative-household personnel.
