Chisinau, August 10 /MOLDPRES/- More public services will be able to be accessed in 80 open centers in addition to town halls in the country, thanks to the Modernization of Government Services project. For several months, 17 Unified Service Provision Centers (CUPS) operated, and today the Government decided to extend the program to 80 localities.
The first such center was opened in December 2021, in Lozova commune, Străseni district, and for half a year villagers who do not have access to the Internet or do not possess sufficient digital skills have been requesting the assistance of the operator to use the applications on the public portals. Viorica Botnaru, specialist at CUPS from Lozova, says that people really like this center because they don't have to travel to Străseni or Chisinau for extracts from civil status or property documents, submitting certain requests, social allowances, etc.
According to Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization Iurie Țurcanu, the goal of the project is the fundamental rethinking of all public services, so that they become friendly to citizens and entrepreneurs.
"We initially started with three services: the modernization of the service for obtaining a driver's license, the service for establishing temporary work capacity, the allocation of unemployment benefits. Later, another 35 services were added to them, so that now we have a total figure of about 80 services, among which there are civil status services, business registration services and other services that people are waiting for a lot. But the range of these services will be expanded, including the services provided by local administrations," Iurie Țurcanu summarized.
