Chisinau, August 25 /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) announced today that the maximum retail prices of the main standard oil products will be COR 95 petrol -25.81 lei/ liter (-0.03); diesel – 27.14 lei/liter (+0.37) on 26 August.
"Thus, after a cheapening period of about two months, the last two weeks there has been a slow increase in the Platts quotations for fuel, as being more pronounced for diesel", ANRE said.
According to data set by Trading Economics, there are credible reasons that impact the prices of fuel, especially diesel. Among the main causes is the significant reduction in diesel stocks in Europe. Under Trading Economics, Brent crude oil prices broke above $102 per barrel today, rising to the highest level for the past three weeks.
"Platts quotations, which represent for the oil industry the reference values on the basis of which prices are formed, have increased the last 14 days for diesel by $152/ton or by 14.87%. The depreciation of the national currency against the US dollar by 0.06% is recorded. It also influences the increase in retail fuel prices. As regards the international petrol quotations, they were less affected. The pump prices were slightly influenced only by the exchange rate evolution", says ANRE.
The decrease rate recorded last weeks in international transactions is directly reflected in the calculations made by ANRE under the Law on fuel market and the approved Methodology.
