Moldovan canoeist qualified for semifinals at Oklahoma World Supercup

Chisinau, August 27 /MOLDPRES/- Canoeist from Moldova Serghei Tarnovschi, qualified for the semifinals at the World Supercup in Oklahoma, the National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOS) announced today.

World champion and European vice-champion Serghei Tarnovschi arrived in Oklahoma in the United States to compete in the Canoe Sprint World Super Cup, where the world's best canoeists and kayakers are.

The Moldovan canoeist managed to pass the heats and quarters and qualify for the penultimate act in the single 350 meter canoe. On an atypical distance for canoe competitions, Serghei was second in the heats.

The semi-finals and the final are scheduled for Saturday to Sunday night in the Republic of Moldova, from 03:30 and 05:39, respectively.
