Several employees of interior ministry received state awards

Chisinau, August 28 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu greeted former and current employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Fulger Special Purpose Police Brigade on Independence Day, the presidential press service has reported.
"We paid tribute to the heroes who 30 years ago gave their lives for our freedom in the battles on the Dniester. I expressed my gratitude to the police officers who were on the front line of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic or those who worked day and night to manage the enormous flow of refugees in the spring. Through these facts, the police becomes a reliable institution of our state", said the head of state.
Also, Maia Sandu urged the policemen to remain in the service of the country and the citizens, and told them that they will have support in their work.
"Only through a common effort will we be able to make the police a modern, integrated and professional institution, which will defend the interests of society, ensure order in the country and the security of the people. To raise our children in peace and quiet, and build our destiny freely", said Maia Sandu.
Maia Sandu awarded several employees of the Internal Affairs system with state awards for the impeccable performance of the duty, for merits in combating crime, contribution to strengthening the state border and ensuring legality and law and order.
