Decrease in coronavirus cases registered in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, August 29 /MOLDPRES/- About 250 COVID-19 cases were registered last week in the capital, 650 less than the previous week. Head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance Boris Gîlca made the statement at the operative meeting of the municipal services.
In Chisinau, there is a decrease in the number of coronavirus cases. "Currently, 227 people are hospitalized in medical institutions in the capital. About 40 of the patients are in serious condition. Last week, eight deaths were recorded. At the same time, 1095 people are treated at home", said Boris Gîlca.
In the context of the start of the new school year, the management of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance urged parents and teachers to respect the protective measures. "We urge citizens to follow doctors' advice and immunize themselves against the virus. In our country it is possible to vaccinate children who are 12 years old. So far, 4% of children in the country have been immunized. All vaccination points remain open and there are enough serums", said Boris Gîlca.
Specialists also recommend citizens to wear protective masks in crowded public spaces and in public transport. At the same time, wearing it is mandatory in medical institutions.
