Chisinau, August 29 /MOLDPRES/- The National Library of the Republic of Moldova, World Literature Section, presents to the public a new exhibition of documents: old textbooks in Greek and Latin, works by ancient authors, anthologies and original works in German and French. All these relics contain various stamps, seals and signs of educational institutions in Chisinau from the end of the 19th century - the beginning of the 20th century.
Elina Bolgarin, head of the World Literature section, curator of the exhibition, said that the research and identification of these copies have not yet been completed, but according to the information available to the institution, it was found that 50 of them belong to the Secondary School Library No 1 from Chisinau and the pension library. Some of the discovered copies belong to the library of the Royal School in Chisinau. Many of the oldest ones, which are even more interesting and contain different autographs of students, once entered the collection of the Library of the Theological Seminary in Chisinau, founded in 1813, and of the Pension for Nobles in the city, founded in 1816. A unique autograph is that of the seminarian Iosif Bogaevski, which is dated January, 1830.
