Moldovan electoral body set up electoral district councils for new local elections

Chisinau, 5 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) established today three constituency electoral councils, level I, in the localities where new local elections are to be held on 16 October.
According to the CEC, within three days, the electoral councils will elect the president, vice-president and secretary by secret ballot.
At the same time, today begins the period for appointing candidates for the position of mayor in the three localities where new local elections were held. Thus, the constituency electoral councils are to make public the information regarding the place, date and time of receiving the documents for the registration of the candidates for the position of mayor, 24 hours before the start of receiving the documents from the candidates.
On 16 October new local elections will be held in Sălcuța village (Căușeni district), Ialpujeni (Cimișlia district) and Braniște (Râșcani district).
