Gun owners can process acts through automated system in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - Gun owners can benefit from services of processing acts through an automated information system titled, State Register of Guns. It was implemented by the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP) and can be accessed on the webpage, www.e-arme.igp.gov.md.  

According to the General Police Inspectorate, the Register’s goal is to create accessible and the best conditions for the citizens, as well as to optimize the mechanisms of issuance of permissive acts in the field of guns with civil purpose.    

Thus, to get the permissive acts, the applicant needs to have the electronic signature, which will allow him/her connecting to the concerned portal to ask for the services necessary.  

The earlier issued permissive acts, as well as the documents necessary for application at the working place will be scanned or photographed and will be attached upon request.   

The applications will be analyzed in a period of 30 days after their submission. If the applicant meets all legal conditions, he/she is to be issued the permissive act to which the person applied.   

According to the Interior Ministry, about 61,000 people own about 75,000 lethal and non-lethal guns. At the same time, the people owning guns illegally run the risk of being punished with non-remunerated labour or to get up to three years of imprisonment.
