The experts convened at the second meeting of the EU Hub for internal security and border management of Moldova.

Opening the event, Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco said that the security of Europe is closely related to the resistance capacity of our country, as there is a war in the neighboring country. "Thanks to the work of the EU hub, it increases safety and crime control. We are much more resilient in operational activities, we can have quick interventions, access to external programs and resources. It is not known how the level of terrorism, organized crime and whether the political and social situation will destabilize, therefore it is necessary to strengthen our capacities and be prepared. Today we will discuss the prevention of transnational crime, we are going to define the main common actions to combat this phenomenon", said Ana Revenco.

Attending the event, Head of the EU Delegation to Chisinau, Ambassador Jānis Mažeiks said that in the context of Russia's aggression towards Ukraine, security in the region has become an extremely important topic. "We appreciate the effort of the authorities and the people of Moldova in managing the refugee crisis. The country worked as a team alongside the EU states. Security is a priority and we need to cooperate in this area. We are sure that today's meeting will be a productive one. We will establish the needs and outline the actions to be taken during the year. Only through unity we can ensure the security of the European space", said Jānis Mažeiks.
