Japan donates Moldova equipment worth over 237,000 euros

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/ - The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) today received a new consignment of humanitarian assistance for the management of the flow of refugees, provided by Japan and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Attending the reception event were the Interior Ministry’s (MAI) secretary general, Serghei Diaconu and Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yoshihiro Katayama.
„We thank the Japanese government and people for the support provided in the crisis situation through which we go because of the war in Ukraine, through the assistance provided along with IOM to the first line employees, in order to be able to provide qualitative, efficient and safe services to all citizens,’’ Serghei Diaconu said.
The Japanese diplomat noted that the equipment donated today was meant to back Moldova, which showed solidarity with the people who had taken refuge from Ukraine. ‘’I hope that the equipment provided by the Japanese nation and the International Organization for Migration will be used by the firemen and rescuers from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in the daily job missions,’’ the Ambassador of Japan said.
The consignment of humanitarian assistance is worth 237,000 euros; it comprises two modern stackers, two mini-busses for carrying people and 14 tows for the transportation of generators.
