Chisinau, 15 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Public Health (ANSP) announced that following the monitoring carried out by specialists last year, it was found that the water from the wells in the country, in proportion to 97%, does not meet the sanitary standards.
According to ANSP, the samples examined by the specialists were non-compliant due to the increased content of nitrates, iron, fluorine, as well as some microbiological parameters, such as Escherichia Coli and intestinal enterococci.
The results of the laboratory checks carried out by the ANSP certify that the share of samples taken from rural aqueducts that do not comply with sanitary standards in terms of chemical parameters was in 2021 - 60% for chemical parameters, compared to 2020 - 57.7% and to 2019 - 58, 7% and 30% for microbiological parameters.
In some districts, last year, the presence of excess chemical pollutants in the water from public wells was not detected (Ialoveni, Basarabeasca and Vulcăneşti). In Anenii Noi, Drochia, Teleneşti, Ungheni, the water is more polluted, compared to other districts of the country, especially in terms of nitrate content.
Following the analyzes carried out, public health specialists recommend the use of potable water delivered centrally, through aqueducts, as it is safer from the point of view of potability.
