Group of Moldovan MPs, Speaker of Turkey visit south Moldova Gagauz autonomy

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ - A group of MPs, along with President of the Great National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop paid a visit to the south Moldova Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri on 16 September. Attending the discussions in Comrat were lawmakers Larisa Novac, Natalia Davidovici, Sergiu Lazarencu, Ivanna Koksal, Fiodor Gagauz and Alexandr Suhodolski.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations service, in the first half of the day, the officials had a meeting with the governor of Gagauz-Yeri, Irina Vlah, the president of the People’s Assembly of UTA Gagauzia, Dmitri Constantinov, as well as the members of the People’s Assembly and the Executive Committee of UTA Gagauzia.
The sides discussed the boosting of the bilateral cooperation, energy security and Moldova’s status of country candidate for EU. President of the Great National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop said that he backed the territorial integrity of Moldova.
The visit to UTA Gagauzia by the parliamentary delegation during the day continued with assessing the social objects renovated in Comrat in the last years due to Turkey’s support. The MPs, along with President of the Great National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop went to the municipal stadium from Comrat, constructed with the support of the Ankara government. The complex is placed on a ground of four hectares and includes a football stadium of 5,000 places, a covered hall for diverse team sports and other facilities.
The visit continued to the Comrat-based Industrial College, which is built with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). The institution will have a capacity of about 600 places, meant for the most modern needs on the labour market, including the ones from the IT sector. The college will have two hostels and a sports complex. The parliamentary delegation’s agenda included also the visiting of the kindergarten Nastratin Hogea, constructed with the support of TIKA. The construction works were finished in 2018. The education institution is attended by 70 children. The delegation was met by children, who sang and recited poems.
President of the Great National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Sentop paid an official visit to Moldova on 15-16 September.
