Over 110 people infected with COVID-19 hospitalized in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 19 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Over 110 people infected with COVID-19 are hospitalized in medical institutions in the capital. Head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance Boris Gîlca made the statement at the operative meeting of the municipal services.
20 of the patients are in serious condition. "Last week there was no death. At the same time, 635 people with mild or medium forms are treated at home. A slow decline is currently being witnessed. Autumn has come, very soon, in the months of October - November, the seasonal flu will start and its overlap with COVID-19, which can cause serious consequences", said Boris Gîlca.
At the same time, the deputy head of the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sports in the municipality of Chisinau, Andrei Pavaloi, said that 140 pupils were tested positive, and 736 are in isolation. "33 teachers have been confirmed with COVID-19, and six are in isolation", said Pavaloi.
Specialists recommend people to get vaccinated, to wear a protective mask in crowded public spaces and on public transport. Also, wearing it in medical institutions is mandatory.
Also this week, 2,263 emergency requests were registered. Following the provision of first aid, 1,773 people were hospitalized.
