Headquarters of department of Stefan cel Mare Academy renovated with the support of USA, UN Development Programme

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - The headquarters of the department of selection and evaluation of the Stefan cel Mare Academy was inaugurated after the renovation today. The works were carried out with the support of the United States, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Interior Ministry (MAI).
Interior Minister Ana Revenco said that, due to the new department, a modern mechanism in the process of recruiting, selection and evaluation of future MAI specialists would be enforced. ‘’The department has already gone through the pilot phase and will be able to work at full capacity. It will allow us optimizing the process of employment through shortening the time of processing acts from one month to two weeks. At the same time, the digitalization of the process will bring transparency and will be an important factor in the fight against corruption. We thank the partners for support in the carrying out of this project,’’ Ana Revenco said.
For his part, U.S. Ambassador to Moldova Kent Logsdon said the new department would contribute to the removing of the present obstacles in the process of electing employees. ‘’It will ensure the implementation of institutional policies of employees’ recruiting and professionalization. The project’s goal is to modernize the law-enforcement bodies of Moldova for a prosperous, democratic and safe future,’’ the diplomat said.
The new structure occupies an area of about 500 square metres at the ground floor of a block of the Stefan cel Mare Academy. It has several offices for employees, two testing hall endowed with computers, four halls for candidates’ interviewing, a session hall, more administrative rooms, as well as a data centre which allows stocking information within evaluations. To ensure the evaluation according to the international standards, the department was equipped with 40 computers and specialized operational programmes.
