Moldovan president participates in state funerals of Queen Elizabeth II

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 18 and 19 September participated in the state funerals of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Along with heads of state and government from all over the world, who brought together in London on these days, President Maia Sandu paid homage to the departed British Queen on behalf of all Moldova’s citizens, the presidential press service has reported.
Maia Sandu took part in a reception given in the memory of Queen Elizabeth II by King Charles III at the Buckingham Palace on 18 September. Today, the head of state attended the religious service dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II at the Westminster Abbey.
„Queen Elizabeth II led the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Commonwealth of Nations during seven decades, with dignity and great sense of duty. These were years of technological progress and deep social transformations, years which, including due to the Great Britain, brought more freedom, well-being and peace to the countries of the world. The life of Queen Elizabeth II gives us a telling example of devotion and service to the people – deeply appreciated and respected service. By her example, the Queen presently inspires state figures, civil servants and officials from all over the world,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
