Over 22 tons of peanuts contaminated with pests stopped in Moldova's customs

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - Over 22,900 kg of peanuts contaminated with living pests have been stopped at the Leuseni customs checkpoint by inspectors of the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA).
According to ANSA, following the carrying out of the phyto-sanitary control, ANSA representatives found out that the batch of peanuts was contaminated with living pests (Oryzaephilus surinamensis).
To observe the phyto-sanitary requirements, the Agency compiled the act on return and banned the entrance of the non-conforming consignment in Moldova.
