Acting president of Romanian Senate visits Moldova

Chisinau, 21 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Interim President of the Romanian Senate Alina Gorghiu will pay a visit to the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday and Thursday to meet Speaker Igor Grosu. Agenda of discussions covers the priorities of bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest.

According to Agerpres, the visit's agenda includes a meeting with representatives of the main NGOs in the Republic of Moldova that deal with the issue of domestic violence and gender equality.

According to a press release of the Senate in Bucharest, Gorghiu will participate in a round table -Gender equality and domestic violence, attended by the NGOs La Strada Moldova, the Women's Law Center, the Gender Center and the National Coalition Life without violence.

"Through this initiative, it is desired to intensify the exchange of knowledge, experience and good practices between the two countries, in order to improve the legislation in the field", the press release states.

Alina Gorghiu will also meet with students from the Faculty of Political Sciences of the State University of Moldova, the topic of the discussions is Politics without young people has no future.

She will also participate in the official opening of the 8th edition of the Romanian Film Days in Chisinau.
