Moldovan parliament speaker, Ambassador of Germany discuss projects on implementing European agenda

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu had a meeting with Ambassador of Germany to Moldova Margret Maria Uebber, who has recently started her mission in Moldova. The officials discussed the problems faced by the Moldovan citizens at present, as well as the situation in the region, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
In the context, the parliament speaker thanked for the assistance provided by Germany both for the management of the flow of refugees and for the projects on Moldova’s development. ‘’The Federal Republic of Germany is among the most important foreign partners of Moldova and in the last year, we have felt a special support, which makes us more resistant to the current challenges triggered by the impact of Russia’s unjustified war against Ukraine,’’ the speaker said.
The sides tackled also such subjects as the food crisis and the scenarios the present governance has for the purchasing and stocking of natural gas and other energy resources. The parliament speaker said that Moldova needed more foreign investors due to invest in the country, creating new jobs and generating economic growth, as well as expertise in everything dealing with the energy efficiency.
The officials also referred to the parliament’s priorities. ‘’The zero priority is the justice reform. We will continue making proper order in justice; to vote good laws to improve the business environment; to reform our security sector; to improve the access to education and many other things,’’ the parliament speaker added.
For her part, Ambassador Margret Maria Uebber confirmed Germany’s support for the changes started by the authorities in Moldova, meant to improve the people’s living and to contribute to the carrying out of the country’s European agenda.
