We are determined to bring Moldova into European Union - president says at UN

Chisinau, 22 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- We are determined to bring the Republic of Moldova into the European Union, so that every Moldovan has a better standard of living and more economic opportunities at home. President Maia Sandu made the statement at the general debate of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
The official said that Moldova continues to advance on the reform agenda. "We are building a stronger and more democratic state. Justice reform and the fight against corruption are at the heart of our change efforts. We are working hard to become a better place for investors - to create jobs, boost the economy and bring more prosperity to people. We are investing in connectivity with Europe and trying to bring our country closer to European standards," said Maia Sandu.
The head of state noted that Chisinau authorities intend to build stronger institutions to work for the benefit of the Moldovan citizens. "We are building roads and bridges, hospitals and a more modern education system. We are focused, persistent and unstoppable. Only in this way can the Republic of Moldova grow as a consolidated democracy in our part of the world, in these difficult times", said the official.
Maia Sandu participated in the opening of the United Nations General Assembly. For two days, the official met with our country's partners from all over the world to discuss how we respond in solidarity to the economic and security challenges faced by the planet, how we ensure peace, democracy and freedom for all.
