Teachers from Moldovan capital to be awarded on World Teachers Day

Chisinau, 22 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Over 100 teachers from Chisinau will be awarded during the celebration organized on World Teachers Day, marked this year on 5 October.

Deputy head of the General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau Andrei Pavaloi said that three people will receive the title of Teacher of the Year, first, second and third place. They will also benefit from a monetary prize.

"At the same time, more than 100 teaching staff will be awarded diplomas for their achievements in the 2021-2022 academic year. We are currently planning the event to be organized on the occasion of the holiday. For its implementation, this year, about 200 thousand lei (about 10 thousand euros) were allocated", said Andrei Pavaloi.

More than 10,000 teachers work in the educational institutions of Chisinau.

World Teachers Day is marked annually on 5 October and was established in 1994 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
