Nine people to be investigated for introducing over 10 kg of drugs into Moldova

Chisinau, 23 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Nine people will be investigated for introducing over 10 kg of drugs worth about 3,000,000 lei (about 156 thousand euros) in Moldova.

According to the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), the suspects have been documented since April, and the last member of the group - a woman from Ukraine - was detained in late May, at the Palanca border crossing point, while carrying around 1.4 kg of PVP drugs in camouflage. Following the search of the members of the group, the law enforcement officers seized from them, in addition to PVP, marijuana, mephedrone and amphetamine, which were sold over the Internet.

At the request of the PCCOCS prosecutors, the detained persons were placed in preventive detention, and if they are found guilty they risk imprisonment from seven to 15 years.
